Q1: 130mm side lap vs standard 70mm – is wider always better? Does it cost more sheets?
 
A: Yes – wider is always better for leak protection. 130mm overlap provides 85% more sealing surface than 70mm. It blocks wind-driven rain (70mm fails at 60-80 mph), prevents capillary wicking, and tolerates installation error (20mm misalignment still leaves 110mm effective). Material cost: 3% more sheets. For that 3% premium, you get 100% leak prevention. That’s the cheapest insurance in roofing.
 
Q2: What thickness for my workshop with heavy equipment and foot traffic?
 
A: 2.0mm – standard for most workshops (CNC, welding, assembly). Tested to 100kg concentrated load – supports maintenance foot traffic. 2.5-3.0mm – overhead crane access, heavy equipment drops, frequent heavy foot traffic. 3.0mm adds 15% material cost but supports 200kg+ loads.
 
Q3: Does the wide lap eliminate the need for sealant?
